We have a loving basset hound(chilli)- 3 year old. He is one of the most gentle and affectionate dogs i have ever seen. As a puppy he used to love his readymade feed and gobble it down within minutes. However after about an year he simply refused even to go near his feed no matter how hard we tried. Then we started giving him home cooked meal which though still he does 'nt too happy to see but gulps down his throat if we feed him with our hand. This becomes quite a task everyday.Even his Vet is unable to provide us with some solution. How is your pet regarding his eating habbits.

Well I have a dog and four cats, and the dog always wants to eat the cat food. Dogs will usually eat just about anything, but their own dog food is usually their least favorite thing, they usually want to eat the cat's or the people's food if they can get it. Do you feed your dog dry dog food? You might want to try canned, they tend to like that better.

I have a beautiful yellow lab and one cat. My dog's name is Logan and my cat's name is freddy even though she is a girl. We took both of our animals from families that could no longer care for them. Neither of them are fussy eaters. The cat mainley sticks to cat food, but Logan (the dog) will eat dog food and anything else that may find it's way on the floor. My son is just starting to feed himself. Logan really likes this. Before we can even think about getting the broom out, the dog has all ready pre-washed the floor for us. I know that table scraps are no the best for any animals, but what can we do? So I guess my point is no, my dog is not a picky eater, she eats anything.

Picky Dogs - Some dogs can be picky
When our dogs get to where they aren't eating their food(which is very very rare) We buy a different kind and flavor and that works. Sometimes we just leave it and my husband says if they get hungry enough they'll eat and they do. I will not fix them a meal of people food. I'll give them a bite of people food as a treat now and again.

Hello, Manumaggi. We have a white boxer, which is four years old. Since he has been with us, he eats with a certain pleasure. We always give him dog food, no homemade food. There are days in which he refuses it, and if you don't sit near him he just will not eat it. Your dog may be suffering from lack of love, which I doubt. Or perhaps the food is too dry to him. You should add some milk to it, and you'll see him eating it all in seconds. Try changing the brand of the dog food aswell, it might help. Respectfully, Munhozmib.
