If someone close to you decides to commit suicide

Which step will you take or what will you do? Me i think I wil call the police or lock him or her somewhere so that he/she doesnt take his or her life. I asked that question to another friend of mine and she said that she will hand that person a glass of poison and tell him to pour it down his throat or tell him to go to the tallest building and thraw himself down! Gosh I think that would be cruel! What about you?
