Hello,Knighrider! Greed....it is personal trait and not hereditary.people cultivate this trait with a view to gain something at any cost without spending a dime.the needs of such people is insatiable.these days most people are found greedy specially the higher ups in the society.they accumulate wealth by unfair means and boast for their wealth.thanx.

Greed is a natural phenomenon. It is found in everyone, its degree may vary from person to person. Greed may be 'positive' also. For example, if one has a 'greed' to acquire higher degrees, his greed will motivate him to better and better. You just cannot stop people from not being greedy. I am greedy in gaining more and more knowledge and I am always egar to learn new things.

I think it probably has more to do with early upbringing than heredity. I think kids who are given everything they want will come to expect it and want more. Too many parents give their kids "things" instead of their time. Relationships are what bring happiness to our lives, not possessions. It's natural for very young children to want what they want, but parents need to teach them to give and share, also.
