Mylotters with 500+ posts have better earning possibility!!

India

every mylotter who croses his/her 500 posts, get the extra feature of using copy and paste in their posts. This will make them answer the discussions much faster, as many answers they can copy from other site and paste it as response. But as for mylotters having less than 500 posts , have to type manually even if the response to the discussion requires big description !! what do you think ?? Is it so?? If you don't think so, then why?

In my opinion, while the copy and paste feature is made a possibility for those who crosses his or her 500 posts, I don't think many members who have that privilege will use that often enough. For me, even though I crossed the 500 posts mark quite a long time ago, I haven't used the copy and paste feature at all until today. I remember there was once when somebody started a post about plagiarism of content from the web for mylot discussions and responses, and I clearly recall that the mylot admin said that plagiarism of content will result in deletion of discussions and responses, unless it has been paraphrased or appropriately sourced and referenced. Besides, many mylot members like to individualize their responses and discussions, so copying and pasting will not be a choice for such members. Copying and pasting may help you earn pennies, no doubt, but most of the time, copying and pasting a response will not have that "continuity" following the discussions. All in all, I think it's really a choice of mylot members who have this privilege of the copy and paste feature; with privileges bestowed on someone, it's the choice of whether you want to use it for your own good or use it for the benefit of everyone...just think of an example like superheroes who are bestowed with superpowers; either they want to use it to help the community, or use it to commit crime and gain a fortune for themselves....

You added very good points. We should not and must not use it just to create some pennies. But i was telling was that you can use the copy paste option responding to some discussion at the point you feel, that you can answer to any discussion in a better way if you take some help of the internet sources. often answers to a discussion has alreay been discussed in some or the other site in a internet. so if you go and search for the answers and find it very usefull o be posted and you just copy and paste the entire data, then it doesn't mean that you are doing it to make some pennies. You are doing this just to help the discussion in the best ossible manner, isn't it??

I agree with everything Mandykaren says, I would have said exactly the same if she had not. Additionally, I think I would spend a lot more time on myLot if I could cut and paste. I type rather slowly, two fingers and thumb. And I have to go back and correct alot of mistakes. Laptop keyboards were NOT made for men's hands. So being able to capture quotes and such would be great. And the reason kind irks me too they do it to prevent spammers. So I have to post 500 times to prove my innocence?

I don't think it really helps that much. The copy/paste feature needs to be used very carefully, we can't just copy whole paragraphs written by others on another site and paste them here as our own. We can post links to relevent information and few lines from previously written articles but we still have to add much of our own manually typed words.

The guidelines explain the copy/paste rules fairly well...just read them and you'll better understand what is allowed.

I don't understand can we actually copy paste here on mylot after we have 500+ discussions. well I was not aware of that. So to what limit can we copy paste. But I guess it's always risky doing that.

Yes, that's what the priveledge is meant for, not for copying the whole matter out . but something out of it and adding the most part of our own.

Hello, Abhishek! I am over 500 posts, but I don't think that it makes any difference at all. You should not copy your responses. Instead, it all should come from your head, from your creativity. I do not copy any made responses. Nobody should. The copy/paste feature is good to post links of some kind of news that you want to discuss about. Perhaps somebody thinks that it would be worth to post a link of a Youtube video, for example. Then everybody would check that video, it would make his life easier in copying the link. Respectfully, Munhozmib.

Yes, exactly, that is what it is meant for. I didn't meant it either to be used it as only copying other's work and making some pennies here. But as far as the link is concerned , some links are really big and its really a frustration to copy those word to word.

I afraid you have to make 500 posts to prove your innocence. Well, if this restriction (below 500 posts could not copy and paste), then myLot would have become a plae full of peoples trying to earn money by simply copy and paste .

Yeah, I was thinking of doing a marathon to 500posts. I wonder how long it would take to post 364 times? Without cut/paste? And incidently, I don't want c/p to post the same thing over and over, but sometimes I want to quote someone or put a link to a site. I find that I can actually post links if they are very short. Or I can break them in half.

ofcourse i also think it makes big difference and can post much faster in less time then us... and not only with doing longer posts using copy and paste but also there has been several times where i have had to retype out 1 post few times, taking mebe 3 times longer due to either mylot problem and loosing it after submitting or due to connection problem.. we can copy to save it but would have to take it over into a notepad, but still we would need to retype it all out.. I mustly want to get to 500 posts so i can get in habit of always using the copy option before submitting.. So if loose it, be easy to go back, paste it in and re-submit

Yes, I agree with you in this point, that while replying to someone's discussion, we do have to retype a sentence and we spend our time doing that rather than simply copy and paste. But I am against the thing , that we should not start any discussion simply by copying and pasting discussions from any internet source. You can use the privledge only to help and not to make money here!! isn't it?

:) hi, well main reason i want to reach 500 is because i am sick of loosing my hard work typing to loose it, since i can not save it (copy) before submitting, it is really frustrating.. so happy posting, good luck hehe, for me another 106 to go

Honestly, I hardly ever use the copy/paste feature. When I do, it is usually to post a link to an article or website relevant to the discussion. Or, if I have to pause in my typing for some reason, I will copy what I have already written in case the connection times out before I get back, then I'm not stuck retyping all my stuff again. So, it is a nice feature, but it honestly doesn't save a lot of time if you use it according to the rules.

Still, the feature is beneficial in one or the other manner, whatever purpose you use it for, it has some benefits.Even if you don't use it regularly, you will get some momments where you have to !!

I may use it once I stepped on the floors of the 500 posters. But I won't to on my most posts. I don't want to have my purpose defeated just by earning cash faster. I'm here to discuss, earning is just secondary. ^_^

Yes, that's what copy paste is meant for and that's what I mean it myself. I never find money here as my first motive here. Its a kind of bonus I get from. First comes, enjoyment and fun, which I keep getting from you guys!! Thanks

I dunno what you mean by "they can copy from other site and paste it as response." Which website will give you the exact answer to the discussion at hand? Besides, that is plagiarism, and you are not supposed to do it. The only thing I have copied and pasted are links and interesting email jokes and fwds that I have received and wanted to share. And of course, if you copy like that you must mention the source, otherwise any time any day, you can accused of plagiarism. Now look at the above response that I have just typed. Does it look like I have copied and pasted it from another website? LOL Most Mylot responses are spontaneous, typed out at great speed on the spur of the moment. Cheers and happy mylotting

Recently I responded to a discussion to a person having a pc slow problem . He asked the same question for what exactly I had the solution in one of my Blog. Now , the solution was quite big, and I could not have even copy and posted here. So, I had to just to be the point and even skipped some points. I would have been able to help him better if just I would have been able to copy and paste. Moreover, I was going to copy from my work only!! So wasn't the copy/paste would have helped in this situation?

That is a good option myLot is providing. but I do believe we must be specific and precise in discussion. To the maximum possible extent content must be ours only. It makes the discussion healthy and lively. What you say Abhi ?

I do have the same opinion, I never meant it to be used as to copy and paste someone's elses work as our. But most of the work should be our, if we copy any quotes, any link from other's sites. then i don't think it is a crime to do that. right?

wow I did not know this until now, I will try to reach 500 and see what happens. i hope I could earn more even if I do copy paste. sometimes it is nicer to write in your notepad or word first than typing here right away. I can also save the things that i write as backup or something.
• India

Now that You know, you can type at your notepad first, have a go through and edit your mistakes and directly copy and paste at the response. That will surely help you to post in a better way.

Well, if they did that, surely they'd be breaking the T&C by simply plagiarising other sites. So I suspect they'd be earning a lot less.

myLot need unique posts and not what they can find in internet already, that's what they are paying for. But copying and pasting links and quotes makes your posts interesting and sometimes helpfull. so that's isn't a crime.

I still not yet make use all the benefits you have stated there. For me,it's like nothing much difference from the time I still have not achieved my 500th posts. Maybe I should make use of all the benefits after 500th posts, lol. Then you should work hard on it. Let's work together, cheers!

I have only used copy and paste a couple of times. I find it to be less of a tool and convenience. I much prefer to think and make my responses rather than to hunt down some obscure answer. I prefer to answer based on my own knowledge and experience.

Most of us would prefer to type manually most of the responses, but in some points we can use the c/p tool too. Because that's why that priveldge is given for? Isn't it?? But not all the times!!

Yes,i've been away for a couple of days because i have to type everything i want to say. Sometimes when i want to quote something that's really disaster for me , i have to write it down on a piece of paper then i type that. It's said this was designed to stop spam or cheating, i think this will definitely work well.Nobody will do that by typing every letter by himself. I'll try to type as much as i can, but this can drive you crazy, when i'm fed up with that i'll just stop. Have a nice day!

this is plagiarism - copy write infringement - don't do it the only way it will really benefit you is if you prefer to formulate a response or a discussion starter in your own wordsin a text program, and post it at a later time. if you are pulling text from another sit - it had better be your own writing, or you need to cite the owner - also do not use copy/paste to post a discussion more than once in mylot - it will be noticed, you will be reported, and possibly have your profile deleted - without warning.

yes, I would really avoid doing that, I don't want to copy anyother's work and post it as my discussion. But I was only talking about general copy and paste job, and not copying other's site's contents and exactly posting it out here. However, in general copy paste , this priveldge surely saves a lot of time .

I crossed that threshold and I haven't used it at all. I saw someone the other day who had 3 paragraphs typed out and they were simply posting it in every discussion that they could trying to earn cheap points. People started ripping on this person because it was obvious as to what they were trying to do. I would think someone would probably report this person and then they would be losing all of their earnings for having done that. It is tough to find enough discussions that would allow for the exact same post not to mention how obvious it would be after not too long as to what one was trying to do. It is helpful though when you have certain non-spam links to share like in the associated content topic where you show off articles you have written.

I agree with you that the same posts from internet must not be copied and pasted as I know myLot pays for unique posts , they expect some unique posts and not the same data they can find on any other site too!! I am not talking to use this special priveldge every now and then. Even I don't think its appropriate to use it only to generate money.

I have passed the 500 mark and I can tell you that I haven't used the copy & paste feature and I doubt that I will. I don't see a need to. I don't plan on copying anything from another site and I don't really know why you think it will make you go so much faster. I guess it's up to the individual user. If you think it will help you when you make 500 then ok you can use it. I hope it will help you go faster. I'm for whatever will help any individual myloter be the best myloter they can be so good luck abhishek! Hope you make 500 soon!

Sometime I find a need to post a link as a response and also to write the same post again or something. In that cases I find difficult to type the same link word to word. In that case that priveldge would really help. Isn't it? We can time doing that.
