For tertiary education: University education vs. College Education?

Does it matter whether you are enrolling in a college or institute or a huge university? Are employers are looking for that criteria? What's the difference between the two?

I don't think it matters much for the typical undergraduate. Some schools have better reps than others Harvard comes to mind. But other than those top notch schools, I think employers just want to see that you went to an accredited school and got a 4-yr degree. I went to two Arkansas schools that no one outside Arkansas has heard of for my BS and MS and it doesn't seem to have hurt my ability to get a Community College teaching job in California.
