Hi, I hadn't done this in a while, but about a month ago, I colored my hair at my local beauty shop. I wear my hair long with a part down the middle and I don't like what I see in the mirror. Right where my part is, there is like a 2 inch strip that shows my ole grays coming through, already!!!! I paid like $50 to have it done. I would think it would have lasted longer than this. So how often do you color your hair or do you have to go in and have it touched up after a month or so? Happy MyLotting, Char

I used to color my hair but wanted to quit. My hair is fairly short as I'm sure you have noticed. I used Fanciful (Brown). You may remember it back from the good old days. Its in a gray plastic bottle with pink writing on the bottle & a pink squirt cap. It washes out so you can't go wrong. I'd wash my hair, then dry well with a towel. Then I squirted the fanciful in the areas with the most gray. Poof....gray gone. Of course you have to do this every time you wash your hair. In your case, you might only need to only use it on your part. Or experiment where you need it most. It looked so natural even my hairdresser didn't know what I had done. I waited a long time between my last haircut. When I went in my hair was brown. After he washed & cut I was salt & pepper with mostly salt. He freaked because he thought he had done something wrong. I explained I had decided not to be vain & was letting it grow back out. I have found the fast food places give me my Senior Discount much easier with a touch of gray. Plus I found coloring to be too much trouble. My hair grows fast & my roots were always showing. It doesn't matter if you do it yourself or pay $1,000 the roots will show about the same time when your hair grows. You might want to look at the store. They now have root touchup kits. I've not used them but you might only need to do your part & it would be a lil more permanent than the Fancifil. Good luck!!! Oh yes, with the Fanciful, if I'm going to a party, wedding , or whatever I can use the fanciful for that one occasion & have no gray, then wash the next morning & be back to normal.

Hi Marissa, I don't think I would like the wash out kind.. I wash my hair too often. I did go down to my favorite Walmart and bought one of those new touch up kits. I think I'll only need to do it where my part is and maybe by my ears but that's about it. I was going to do it today but there was too much going on. I figure I'll give it a try and if it screws up bad, I just won't go out of the house for awhile. lol Happy MyLotting, Char

Thanks for your response! Yes, I didn't color my hair for a long time and then I thought I'd give it a try. I really liked it, but I just wish it stayed that way longer. Happy MyLotting, Char

I get a cut every 5 weeks. I have a full foil color done every two months. Every other month, I have my roots touched up. I prefer foiling, as it doesn't show the gray as much. It's expensive to be beautiful.

probably not. otherwise she might have refrained from doing that. but who knows. she would be going through the pain for her false vanity. rather i would say for her image

I color my hair about once three months.Because I have short hair, and my hair is nearly white about 5/1.One day,I knew that coloring hair will do harm to the body. But I am also a woman of loving beauty.I don't want to be looked as an old woman.I really don't know how to do with my poor hair.

I haven't dyed my hair ever since I was born . My mother is conservative and told me that she would shave my head of I ever dye it. When I grew up, I just didn't have passion for dyeing my hair anymore.

I am not at the age yet *knock on wood* where I have to deal with gray hairs. My mom and my sister color their hair quite often to hide the grays. They both do it with the at home kits though by like L'oreal and Clairol. My sister does her every couple of months and my mom does her every month or so. I have been told your hair grows 2cm a month so I would think that would be about the length that you would start to notice the grays again and you might want to recolor. Depending on your hair though you could probably get away with another month. My mom gets grays all over, she is 60 and my sister gets grays just on the sides of her head right now, and she is 38. My mom used to get it done professionally every time but that just got to be too expensive after awhile and she's gotten really good at the home kits so she saves a bunch of money by doing it that way. She also has very short hair though and with you having long hair I would be nervous getting all of the hair colored and having enough coloring, ya know? Well, happy hair coloring and mylotting friend!

Thanks for your response! I'm glad your not at that age yet!!! It comes faster that you'll ever know! I have tried to do it at home (with my son's help, believe it or not) and with the length it's a real pain in the butt. I have to buy two kits in order to cover it all. lol I bought one of those new touch up kits at WalMart the other day and I'm going to try it out tomorrow. I'm brave. I figure if I do something drastic to my hair, I just won't go out for awile lol Happy MyLotting, Char

I've had gray hairs since I was 15. They are now making a nice home in my temple areas and have all but taken over my bangs. With longer hair and some strong gel I could probably pull off a killer Bride of Frankenstein. _
