How did you find your job(s)?

These days, we have many different ways we can carry out job hunting. Contacting recruitment agencies, using online job search websites, sending CVs by post to the companies, through friends, family or other contacts or through replying to job adverts in newspapers. I found my current job through an online job search website which was relatively convinient than the rest of the options, previously I have also done all of the above for past jobs. How did you find your jobs? Would you consider other ways to find work or have you already tried them out? Which ones were you most successful with?

i worked twice before. two years in a hospital pharmacy and two years in a local pharmacy in the city. it's through my friends. my friends tell me about job openings and ask if i am interested in working for them or someone they know of. i really feel lucky knowing that i don't find much difficulties in looking for a job. yes, i surely want to look for other ways in finding a new job one day. i am back to school now learning the swedish language (i am from the philippines and now living here in sweden). so, i hope after finishing the language school, i can find job once again not just through friends but in some other means.

Like you I also did a search online. And now I currently work from home. I have worked in offices and call centers outside the home. For those either word of mouth or looking in the local paper worked for me.

I have only had one real job and that was like a year ago at Arby's and I found out about that job because one of my brothers worked there, and they were real short handed so I applied to make it easier on them,I was glad I did, even though once they hired me they never gave me hours, even though I have tried a temporary agency to find a job,but they could not find anything for me,currently my same brother is working at Wal Mart and he told me they are short handed on third shift maintenance,so me and my fiance are trying to get hired for third shift maintenance so we can help him out.

I have been here in my job now for more or less 2 years already. And I'm having much fun really. I'm still enjoying my job and I like to stay here for more days and years. It was my friend who told me about this job. He lived nearby this company and he told me. Thanks to him.

Hi there marina321! I have been working for the same company for the last eight years. I love what I am doing -- teaching. Yeah, I teach college students. I did not look for the job. When we were practicing for our graduation, our dean approached me and asked me if I was interested in teaching. I hesitantly said YES. I told my parents about it and they told me that if I wanted it, I should go ahead and accept it. I talked to my mentors and they told me that I had all what it takes to be an educator. After that, I talked to my dean and told her I am accepting her offer. After I finished my second major which was 5 months after the offer was given, I was hired for the job.

I worked for a company for 24 yrs and they closed, completely shutdown, suddenly I was out of a job.. I went to the employment office, no job, newspaper no job, so a cousin of mines told me to try the temporary service, and that is where I found the job I have now, I have been there 9 years.
