For centuries, philosophers have cornered the market on the meaning of life. Who really knows whos correct in their theories. Life was a gift from the creator of this world. Some call him God. It wasnt created by anything we have done directly. We do have a great big hand in ruining it though. When I was younger, I wouldnt have a clue as to how to answer this question. Now, I am a mother, wife, friend, woman and Im still learning new things everyday. However, life is what we make of it. I believe we were each given a chance to participate and learn as much as we can during our time here. We are given the ability to have a husband and children as a way to help replenish the things we have taken from the earth. It is our responsibility to make sure that we give something back. Even if its as small as teaching our children to be good people. I believe that life was a gift. With this gift each generation will become more knowledgeable. This knowledge will help make the earth and its inhabitants to come together. Hopefully, we are passing on the correct information to our children. Wars are meant to be fought to acheive something. If we really look at ourselves and what we have, maybe we wont need to fight others for what they have. That to me is the meaning of life. Peace. dl

Life is a journey. We live to walk and fulfill our responsibilities. We are not existing just to enjoy. But do what we ought to do. And for me that is to love others. Help them. As it pleases God.

I think you are on to something. I am just so tired of hearing that its a great philosophic quest to find the meaning of life. I think that the meaning of life is a description of the quality of life you lead. If you filled your days with worry and dwelling on the uncertain, you are wasting what was given to you. If you educate yourself, help others, and live a clean life as well as make some mistakes, you'll find great meaning in your life. Thanks dl.

I agree that we are here to learn. And having children means responsibility and caretaking for them so they can in turn take responsibility and caretake for others and the planet. I think its our responsibility not to have too many children so as not to deplete our earth's resources more. I wish more people would adopt the children already here, older kids crying each night for a home, but that's a different story. I have a little toddler and it is with a child where we learn how selfish we were and how unselfish we have to be in this gift of life. Big lesson there. I'm a sahm which means, since my husband works nights and is addicted to WOW and family is far, that I'm sole caretaker - kind of like being a single mom! But its all worth it, I have the honor of raising and teaching and protecting our future. He is my gift, even more then the gift of my life. He is the someone and something I always wanted in my life and never - never would have thought. Another lesson as a mom. I think we're here to enjoy our gift but also to respect and be humbled by this great gift/.
