I am having a hard time with my boss, His personal problem is affecting his dealings with others. I can not stand it anymore. I plan to ask advice from the human resource or the department of labor for this. I am having a hard time now. Do you think it is right for me to do this? what advice you can give me? I need help!!! Any advice is highly appreciated.

Hi there celestial052506! I believe that most of us do not really get along well with our superiors. We have one or more reasons for that. There are times when our boss would give us a hard time for some personal reasons. What is sad is that at times, we cannot do much about it. It's bad that there are managers who can't keep their personal problems to themselves that their work is greatly affected. Worse, the subordinates suffer the consequences. I do not know for sure what your boss has done to you. However, it is important that you talk to your boss about how you truly feel. If ever doing this wouldn't really help, you can ask the aid of other people in your organization that can help you out on this. Perhaps a representative from your union. If you think that there is indeed unfair labor practice on the part of your boss then you can ask advice from the department of labor. But do this only when you have extinguished all other possible options. Good luck!

i think that it is definitely right for you to do this, because his attitudes will eventually start to affect the attitudes of those that he manages. besides, no matter what the personal problem is, he has no right to place that under you or any of your coworkers anyway

I am now in the process of looking for another job but it is just hard to find one at the moment. I might get heart attack with the way my boss deals with me.

hi celestial! i think you should first talk to the boss and tell him your opinion. or if you think that its too awkward to talk to him, then you can write him a letter and tell him that as a concerned employee and subordinate and perhaps as a friend, he should not let his personal problems affect his work. he should not bring his personal problems at the office because its not only affecting his work and relationship with his employees but also his own self. employees might think of him as unprofessional and unable to handle personal matters. you should tell him that with all the concern and respect so that he won't take it against you. and if you put it all in nice words with all the due respect, and if he take it against you, then you can go to the human resource or labor department and tell them the problem. i hope things will go better for you. my boss doesn't behave that way if she has personal problems but i can imagine how hard that can be for you. good luck.

My dear celestial, since you know what is the problem with your boss I think that it is best to see if he will overcome what is happening in his life. Remember he was not like this before and because of the happenings he is unable to cope. Just try and sympathise with him and see if you can help him to adjust with what is happening.
