Did You Know that Real Estate Agents are Only One Step Above Used Car Salesman?

That's how the public views real estate agents. I got my license a little over a year ago and have worked at not one, not two, but three agencys in the last year...one worse than the last. Now I've decided that this part-time career was not such a very good move. The real estate market is bad and is not even at its worst yet. That coupled with the fact that many agents are just plain unscrupulous leads me to believe that this is not the career for me. I really have no question to add here. I was just venting about how frustrated I am about this. My job as a teaching assistant starts up again in September and frankly I look forward to it at this point. Thanks!

hi wachit hi suppose every career choice has it's dishonest people. i had seriously considered being an agent but i thot of the times i'd have to show a house alone to a man and i didn't like the risk. i heard of another lady real estate agent that was doing well but then the market went down and so did her job. so she turned her office into a florist shop and her business is booming. teaching sounds good. i hope you flourish in it.

You're right about the business not being necessarily safe for women. I went to an open house by another agent (a woman) this weekend and she had her husband sitting in the other room. I'd probably do the same thing if I was her. Thanks!
