I just saw the news on Wired: http://blog.wired.com/27bstroke6/2008/07/e-gold-founder.html#previouspost The feds have always been going after e-gold for one reason or another, and completely ignoring the competitors, as one comment on this story mentions. Frankly, I am of the mind that most online payment systems are fast becoming obsolete, because of innovations such as MobillCash, and others... http://www.apsense.com/article/119395.html Although I will keep my e-gold account for nostalgic reasons, I will use it only when really necessary. You see, I made my first money online 7 years ago by using advertising that I purchased with e-gold, and that really got me off to a good start... It also helped me find employment for a lot of good folks out there, too! :)

e-gold used to be the most popular payment processor online, next to paypal. But in the last two years, with the emergence of other processors like e-passporte, it has lost its standing... There used to be times, where only once processor used to be used, and that was e-gold. And people preferred it to paypal. Even today, adverisement payments are accepted only in e-gold..
