Why do some women wear too much eye makeup?

What causes some women to feel that they need so much makeup? When they look in the mirror, cant they see its way too much? Is this an insecurity? It seems in many cases in actualy makes them look older and not younger.What are your opinions on this? When is too much just too much?

hi eafore...yes, i think they think it makes them prettier and more attractive. i worked with one female and she wore such heavy dark eyeliner it was almost laughable. she was trying way to hard to i guess look good. it went into reverse and was distracting like a train wreck. but you know if you talk to them about it, they can't not do it. they have to over do it to make them feel good. there is something out of line there. BTW i'm a female but i think it's overdone too.

I just thought that it would be very embarassing for someone to say it to them or for it to be pointed out in public. I have seen it looking very halloweenish. I think when it goes over to clownish or halloweenish, it just way too much.

i agree. i know of a man that tried to reason with his wife who was a laughing stock because she almost looked like a freak. but she'd say she HAD to put that much on to feel pretty. i don't know what the problem was there.

hi eaforeman6..i really dont wear make up at all especially on eyes..although i like seeing women wearing one..some do that just to define their eyes and make it look bigger if its small or vice versa...it really do the trick...wearing one depending on what kind of work they may have if its a night shift then for sure they put heavy ones and if its day then a lighter one...

That is so true. The nightime make up can be darker and its not so bad. I wonder if they dont have good lighting and maybe cant really see how it looks? Maybe close up mirrors could possibly help them?

I do wear eye make- up. I wear mascara and some liner. I have seen older women were eye shadow way up their eyes almost the brows but not quite.

It's refreshing to see a lady walking in the
street with no make up on their faces. I admired
those women so much. They are confident and more
sexier than those who wears a lot of make up.
I myself doesn't wear any eye makeup at all.
