What kind of an eater are you? Does your swallow makes 80% of your eating, like you chew a bit and then you swallow. Or do you chew it on a 90% level then you swallow, like how the french eats. More of a leisure than a necessity.

It is really hard to say because when I eat, it is like a natural thing that I chew and swallow and didn't notice how much time I allow for both. And also, it would depend on the kind of food and the mood, either I am in a hurry or not. But normally, I would say that I chew more. I want to chew more because food will be digested easier that way. Have a nice day!

When I'm really paying attention to my eating, I chew a lot. I try to pause, put my fork down and just chew as much as I can. Often I'm distracted, though by TV or reading or something and I'll eat quicker and chew less.

I chew first the food before swalling. Except when i am too n\hungry, I tend to swallow it after few times of chewing. It is bad I know but i could not help it.

Hello, mchavez! I am a rice eater and a vegetarian.such type of foods need less chewing as cooked tender.so 50% chewing would be sufficient for me.however I take about half an hour to finish my lunch or dinner.thanx.

I think it's 50% chewing then swallowing. I eat rather fast. I don't spend too much time at the dinner table. I guess, eating is more of a necessity rather than a leisure, unless I'm eating at a restaurant. I'd take more time.

I think I chew 80% of what I eat then swallow it. I dont like to chew it up to 90% or even 100%. I get used to eating in such way. And I also eat and swallow if I can swallow it now.

This is so funny to see, I eat fast so I must to be in the first one, but my husband is french and he eats faster than me. So the french here chew very little and swallow, so no generalization applied to the french, hahahaha.
