I get to meet some inlaws tomorrow

I get to meet my brother's wife's parents, or in other words, his in laws tomorrow. They are coming over to the house tomorrow and I suppose we will all have dinner. They flew in from the Philippines last Monday, so they aren't like the regular Americans I assume with tradition and so on. It will be an interesting event, I hope our food is enjoyable to them, it's probably not what they usually eat. We have pet cats as well, and my brother told us to lock them in a room and pretend that we don't have them, I guess they don't like cats, but we refuse to do that haha. I know there are some Filipinos on here who enjoy the site, though I am not too familiar with certain household customs, is there anything I should know so I don't offend them or anything? Any advice is good!

oh man i want to help so much, i know how you feel as my boyfriend is Turkish and it took me so long to feel comfortable around his family. Maybe you can check out the Rough Guide's or their websites if they have them, they tell you thinks about customs in other countries. Just search 'Rough Guide to Phillipines' and that should bring up something. Ooo, the food part would have me so nervous, my boyfriends parents have been living here in America for some time so Im sure they would be more open than someone coming right from another country that have not been even remotely acclimated, im sorry i cant help more.
