Megs and the 'Tool" Shed - Who Won? LOL

Earlier this week the hubs took advantage of a civic holiday here to build a garden shed. We wanted it to be a temporary shelter as next summer we intend to landscape the backyard. But with his new business that requires a lot of expensive tools large and small we needed somewhere to put them out of the weather as we don't have a garage yet. So he decided to use up the lumber left over from some of his jobs and a huge, thick, watertight tarp. He built an A frame on top of the tarp laid on the ground and then we folded the tarp up and over it, creating a tent like structure, to be open at one end for egress. In the middle of our trying to figure out how to create the opening without cutting the tarp, Meg showed up. She stood and watched us for awhile, sitting among the small peices of lumber and tools, and I lost my concentration on the folds I was trying to create in the tarp in order to keep an eye on her to make sure she didn't hurt herself. Well of course the folds fell apart and the hubs got a little peeved at having to start again. Suddenly "MIZ MAYOR, MIZ MAYOR" shatters the air! I nearly brought the whole structure down on the hubs head I turned so fast to Megs and forgot to retrieve my hand from between the tarp and the frame. I rushed to Megs who has a hammer in her hand. "I want to bang" she says! OMG I nearly lost my lunch at that! I actually ended up on the ground I was laughing so hard with Megs standing over me repeating "I want to bang. What can I bang?" Well the hubs is getting irritated at the delay - it was sooooooooooo hot out there in the sun, but at a look from me he gave Meg a board with nails in it, set it down into his vice and showed her how to bang (!) the nails out. We left her happily banging away and went back to folding the ends of the tarp. And then.......................total quiet. I slowly turned around and there is Megs, cradling the peice of wood which she had managed to get out of the vice. I went over to her and she looked up at me and presented me with the piece of wood like a gift. She handed it to me and said "I bang good!" It was all I could do to not to crack up again. Well that peice of wood has pride of place on the 'Tool Shed'. We used it to tamp down the last fold over the opening the keep the wind from getting under the fold and tearing the whole thing off. I had Meg print her name on it and the date. She was sooooooooo proud, she insisted in sleeping in our 'tool tent' that night. I stayed out there with her and what a time we had ..................... but that's another story.

I am so sorry Sparks ROFLMBO. All I can picture when I read what Meg said about "I bang good!", is What was his name on American Idol, who sang that "She Bangs" song, and became famous for how silly he was. Now that song and the image of Meg, (even though I don't know what she looks like), will be with me for days. Thanks for the laugh my friend, I needed it. Hugs Marilyn

She is that Gabs. She has bad moments and is easily frightened by people at times, but she's improving every day.

Sounds like an adventure to get the tool tent up with Megs wanting to help (Is she your granddaughter?) It is good that you got it up and have a place for your husband to store his equipment until you can get around to building a full shed.

That's somthing, that she is inclduded in what you do. I'm glad your husband conceded, I know he had to be hot and tired. And I know how men get, lol. But she is a child in a way so you can't get upset with her. I'm like you, have the patience of a saint and deal with what comes. PM me please. I'd like to tell you something I've been wanting to do. I just keep forgetting. Thanks.

She's so proud of seeing her name there! I found her this morning running her fingers across it before she came in for her morning coffee cake. I'm going to ask the hubs if he will burn over the writing right into the wood so it doesn't fade. I'm sure he will. Have answered your PM. And again - I love you to bits.
