Helium.com, you can go into creative writing and post that kind of stuff. It is really cool. Then they have weekly writing contests that you can win cash. I write on there all the time and it is a good way to see how good of a writer you really are. It is your peers that judge you and you get ranked according to that subject and topic. Check it out, you might like it.

Have you tried Associated Content? They pay for your work. I'm actually a member, but, I have to update my profile and such, otherwise I would send you a referral link. Check it out. Its pretty good.

The reponses pretty much point you in the same direction I would. Associated content doesn't pay much for poetry, you'd have to submit it for upfront payment. If you do, then chose the non-exclsive rights so you can re-publish else where. I would like to invite you to sign there, since there is a referral system :) Next I would go to Triond...they pay pretty good for poetry, mine is doing well there. Its not a lot unless you promote it, but something is better than nothing. Next would be Helium. their pay is extremely low unless you get into article writing for contests and marketplace. But they have a great writers forum where you can chat with other writers and get feedback on your work. This is also another site with a referral option ((wink wink)) send me a request for friend, and I'll send you the links.

Hi there! i have just joined triond and they published my short story, it has been rated and had some comments left about what people think of it! You do get paid according to how many people view what you write too! I only joined this site very recently so i can't tell you much more than that but it sounds as though it might be like what you are looking for! if you decide to join my username is munchkin547 (same as on here!) so look me up! hehe happy mylotting!xx

You have a nice idea, but like you know, every dream needs to be nurtured to fruition. One good site out there is helium.com.But you have to learn to realy use your writing skill to make money. There are weekly contests and marketplace opportunities for people of all categories.I believe,if you can write a poem and short stories, like you said, then you may be able to write on some other topics too.If you will like to connect to the site to start earning from your titles and effort,do not forget to mention my name as a referral. That is, www.helium.com/users/92595.Send me an email at olowode@yahoo.co.uk for any other assistance. And if you care to extend your writing skill to summaries and abstracts, then you may connect with like mind at www.shvoong.com/aff-54D69.You'll have a great experience.

I'm not 100% sure but I think you can do that on Helium.com. I'm sure there are other sites too, but I can't think of any off hand. Good luck with your search!

You might want to try article directories like Ezine Articles, lots of people go to article directories to read stuff.

Hmm, Triond mentioned tick. Associated Content mentioned tick, Helium mentioned tick :P Guess that only leaves Constant Content for sites I'm a member on. It's more a site where you place your articles with a price tag for interested publishers to buy them. Oh, and if you are looking for a site where you get rated, Helium is definitely the one you should be looking at. I have to warn you that not everyone will like with the rating system though.
