Not all the times the justice has been been restored like this, in a brave sense.. as on many occasions the culprits escape with the loop holes in the law.. The judge while granting bail to one Maheswar Naik, said.. either marry her ( whom she raped) or spend the rest of your life in jail.. http://www.dnaindia.com/report.asp?newsid=1182148 A bold decision by the Judge..

Marry a rapist, ugh!! Indians sure love this theme, don't they? The movies are full of it. Girl gets raped, marries her rapist, and "changes" him! Absolute bullsh1t! There is no woman in this world who can change a man, and I wish Indians would realize this. A rapist ought to be hanged, not given such a choice. In India, a woman thinks she won't see heaven unless she sees this hell on earth: Marriage. And a rape victim might not get a "man" if she doesn't take her rapist as her husband. And who knows he won't continue raping her all through her life? Then it will be "legal" because he is married to her. However, this case looks a bit fishy. Looks like these two had a relationship and this is more a "breach of promise" case than a "rape" case. Cheers and happy mylotting

Yes, the man in discussion has promised her to marry, but never did..may be the judge wants to restore the broken relation ship in his own way..

Hi saivenkaat802003! I have read the article and I think that it isn't really rape after all since there is a relationship that existed between them during the time. However, the guy backed out from the promise that is why he is now charged of rape. If I were the girl, I wouldn't marry him because I wouldn't wish to get married to a guy who was just forced to marry me. I would still want to believe that marriage is of free choice and free will and it is all because of love. Take care always..God Bless!
