Every year in December, my volunteering group goes to a senior center to bring gifts to the old people who don't go home -because most of them have no home to go to. This year is my turn to buy gifts, and this is my first time to do so. I need advices. What gifts should I give that bring smiles to their faces?

I like this idea because I'm the queen of baked goods. Now, my friends, you should come to my house, I will bake my famous "lilycool cookies" for all of us.

I think maybe like colorful note pads. Or i dont know if they can have things like bubble bath, or for the men like shaving stuff.

my gran is 97 and loves the old things like lavender and lace for her dressing table she also loves listening to music an scarfs. My grandad liked me to read to him near the end of his life his eyesight went he also loved to be well groomed and always had a comb sticking out of his pocket although ....... i also have an e- friend on the net who is 83 and loves technology and couldn't live without the internet! where as my gran would probably make a computer a cup of tea lol! hope this has given you some ideas i think just letting them know you care that they are here will be enough! good luck!

How about books or magazines? Especially ones that have larger print. Slippers (or slipper socks), an inexpensive print to hang on the wall (scenery of some sort, see them in the dollar store all the time), deck of cards w/large numbers, puzzle books w/large print. Do they have a DVD machine in their rooms or in an all access room? What about DVD's of old TV shows? Games of some kind.

Be careful about the bath, hygiene things because so many are allergic or bothered with the smells. I can't think of any off hand but will let you know in a couple days

Lotion packs are great for elder people.
