How do you apply floorwax?

Here in the Philippines, people are quite knowledgeable with floorwax mainly because it was being used to keep the floor shiny. However, it is not a common practice anymore. It has been replaced by floor polishers and mops and other equipments which others find more comfortable and easy to use. But during the olden times, every household uses floorwax. I have personally used this back in the 90's. First, I sweep the floor with the use of a soft broom. Or, I would also mop the floor. Then, I would let it (the floor) dry for a few minutes. When it's already dry, it's ready for the application of floorwax. With a piece of cloth or clean rug, I pour a portion of floorwax onto the rug. Then, manually apply it to the floor making sure that every portion is applied with. This is quite tiresome but I could say that it's worth the effort. Afterwards, when the floorwax has stuck on the floor, maybe an hour or two, we scrub the floor using a coconut husk. This makes the floor shiny and repellent from water and dirt. Floorwax also comes in different colors and forms. There are red and white colors and some come in liquid or semi-solid form.
