HELP!! My Computer Is Acting Up!!

I had gotten a virus of some sort. Now I'm no computer expert, quite the contrary however, hubby went to walmart and bought a virus protector and put it on my computer to clean it up. I couldn't even go back in time like I've suggested to so many of you! (so much for my advice!) However what it's doing now is, I'll open up my email and go to respond to a discussion, my email gets taken over by mylot or even another page that I want to see. For example, I'll have my email open and then I'll open another browser to go to another site and it closes my email and opens the new browser and then takes me to where ever I asked to go. I can't have two or more pages opened at once like I was able to do before. Does anybody know how I can resolve this? I hate having to keep opening my email over and over again after responding to a discussion. It's a waste of my time. Please help!!

If the Antivirus did not help then it might have to be a case of reformatting
Why did you buy an Antivirus I have got a free one that I have now had for 6 years and it has never let me down
Now you could try it and see if that might pick up the Virus if you want the link let me know also I suggest you run a Spyware Program
If all that does not work Sweet then I think you need to reformat

gabs I have the same problem but only when on mylot pages. Other sites and I can have a lot of windows opened and stay that way. It may be a glitch here possibly.

it could be a virus or it could be spyware. I would run that also. and sometimes if you install a virues protection program after you have a virus it wont clean the virus off the system it depends on where the virus is residing.

Now this is odd sounding. I personally don't think this situation is caused by a virus though. But I also have no idea as to why it happens. The same happens to me ever so often. But only with myLot etc. If I am surfing other sites etc I can have more tabs opened. Odd but I think it is a glitch here on the mylot server as opposed to a virus. One should always have an anti-virus installed if they use the internet as protection always. I have never surfed without one. Got to be safe all the time when online. Good luck with this issue also.

Sounds like it could be a glitch with the Web Browser. You might want to re-download the new version from the Microsoft official website. Alternatively, you might want to download another browser such as Opera or Firefox to see if it really is a glitch.
Firefox is a really good browser, from which I believe that Microsoft adopted the tabbed browsing feature.

Hmmm i real dont know what could be wrong but i have been using a very good virus scan program called mcafee virusscan plus. i have been using it for years and it never let me down. heres the link:http://daol.aol.com/security/virusscan-plus/
