I was told about a story by one of my friend from India about an arranged marriage between her sister and their father best friend son.Now the girl does not love neither wants to marry the guy.But the parents already fix the marriage and force her to marry him.And they also threaten her if she refuse or run away they would kill her,now what should the young lady do in this situation to help her self and to make them understand.Advise Please.God Bless.

that was happening only to those people who are really rich. they dont want their money be going to another person that they think has no right to be included to their family. most of it are royaltyl they really choose the man or woman for their children to be with.

how can parents kill their child? i think the parents r being to cruel, everyone has a right of choice, how can someone spend her life someone whom she doesn't like, marriage is the most important decision in life and no one can force marriage on her. if the girl is self-independent financially she should consider of moving out of her parents house, becoz her parents seem to be quite adamant n it will be a waste of time to persuade them to reconsider their decision.....i think friendship is more important to them than there daughter...but trust they will value there child if the girl goes away from them n decides to stay separately....so tell ur friend to be courageous n fight her way out instead of listening to her parents...if she fails she will ruin her life....also tell her to lodge complain at a local police station if her parents r threatning to kill her..

If her parents are willing to kill their own child over something as ridiculous as an arranged marriage then unfortunately there is not much she can to. She will never change their opinions about the marriage. It would be nice if there was some sort of agnecy over there that could help these young women but the culture is what it is. I think all she can do at this point is decide if she'd rather marry a man she doesn't love or be killed, because it really sounds like that is her only option. I wish she could run far far away and start her own life some where away from these people but I doubt that is a practical option.

That is the advantages of fixed or arranged marriages. The people involves has no choice but follow what is pre-set. Their choices are taken away from them. Sad but true.
