Is the Internet doomed?

I just read a very scary article by Paul Watson from prisonplanet.com, It's about the fate of the Internet we all know and love, which people use for news, information, communication and even business purposes. It's about to be replaced by Internet 2. It's super-fast but only available to a select few and with restrictions that most people will find unpalatable. Please don't take my word for it. Type 'Internet 2' into Google and click on the links. We owe it to our children and our children's children to resist the demise of the old Internet. Happy surfing.

I've just read about this. It's already in use by a select few...universities, researchers, government agencies and such. It wasn't created to replace internet1. Can you imagine though..downloading a dvd movie in just 30 secs. Amazing.

I know Internet 2 is very fast. I'm jsut worried that there will be fewer and fewer websites and less choice all round.
