what will you do if you are inside the jeepney with a 'deformed' person?

i happened to get in a jeepney going downtown and a lady about my age sat beside me. i havent really seen her face when she hopped in.but what i did notice is that her mouth is deformed. she cannot close her mouth. she hid fer face with her long hair. upon knowing that, i just switched my attention to the rest of the commuters. i looked into their expressions when they saw the lady. it was a relief that no one made fun of her even a minute gesture. only the little boy sitting on his mother's lap got his eyes fixed on her. and when she got off, no word was uttered nor a laugh dismissed. such a relief.

Well, I probably would have done what you did. It is hard not to stare because it is unusual to see. I think we stare because it is natural to analyze things. I dont' think most people do it to be cruel... I think I would not have looked at her but done something like search in my purse or something to avoid the situation. Have a great day and happy myLotting!!!

Somehow the girl was fortunate enough not to have a group of teenaged gangsters riding the jeepney as well. Maybe if I'm alone, I may not think of it as something to be laughed off, but things may change if I'm with my bull friends, who love to laugh at disgusting things.

Hi! What I would do, is remember that I too could have been that way. How would I want to be treated? Deformed or not, people are people, we all were born and we all will die. So let's make the best of it while we can. Everyone has feelings. Treat others the way you would want to be treated. Take care , Margajoe.
