i was just at shopping recently and when i realized that almost every people is never using cash anymore they are just taking a credit card and using that instead of cash i was wondering that did credit card got already more popular than cash? of course its more secure than taking cash with you however dont you think that it is also useful to take some cash also with you before going out, for me i also use credit card but i always bring some cash with me, because in some places credit card is not accepted at all. so what do you think? which one you prefer? you bring cash or just use credit card? or you use the both? happy mylottings

I don't have a credit card and i don't have a plan on having one. I prefer to use cash on my shopping and also I use My ATM to pay. It's convenient to use your ATM to pay while shopping without any cash on your pocket. The bank doesn't charge you anything when you use it as mode of payment. Because When you have credit card you can't get out of your debts FOREVER. By tomorrow i'm a debt free person..

I prefer to use cash than credit card. But I dont bring too big amount of cash. So instead of using credit card, I use atm card as most malls now accept payments via atm card...

Hi there! I have a credit card but I prefer buying with cash. I hate to have credit bills every month. I have experienced paying my credit card for a year because the bills got piled up and has gone enormous because of the interest every month. I just got my credit that time and so excited using it every time I go shopping. Thank God I am through paying it. Finally I'm debt free.

I don't have a credit card so I always use cash if not I use my ATM. Also since the mall is just near us I don't worry about carrying much money and also I'm not that rich anyway to bring a large amount of it.

I dont have my own credit card, but my mom have lots of them. She only have two before, but all banks send her credit cards even though she does not have accounts with them, they knew my mom pays on time and I dont know how did they knew that. So anyway, she always bring cash, she prefers cash rather than credit cards.. She only use her credit cards when we are broke and needed to buy something, or if it is too expensive and cash is going to be in big amounts.

I think paying by cash is better than credit card. You won't have to think of any additional bill at the end of the month.I do have three credit cards and there are times that these so called "hidden charges" are posted on my billing statement and what's worse is that these CC companies did not even asked me if it's fine with me or whatever. Nevertheless though, I still paid. I have also seen and heard on tv talk shows about how credit card debts are drowning people into nothingness, know what I mean. So if you can pay it in cash, better do. But in fairness to credit cards though, they're very useful especially in cases of emergency. Not very bad for wise spenders.

I always use money and i never use credict cards though it is accepted, my parents also have stopped using it now a days and im more comfortable to use money to pay than any other means , yes theft happens in my place but then we will be more careful i feel im secured only with the money i have in hand than to have any credict with me

yes I agree if you only got so much cash that is all you will spend, where with a credit card it is too easy to buy that thing that you really didn't need but it was pretty. It seems that places now adays don't want cash. I get pentilized every where I go to pay bills with cash. I think it is stupid. I have one card and only use it when I have to, most places like electric and cell phone payments get an extra fee if you pay by credit or debit card. I THink tht is why they push using the card.

I prefer cash. Credit card may have a lot of benefits but there's also a thing called hassle. And I don't want to have that hassle in going to the bank and paying all my credit card balance. At least with cash, you can just pay them/someone directly and that's it, end of story.

I often use cash instead of credit cards because cash limits me of spending LOL!!! I only use credit cards for emergencies like hospital bills, energy power, phone and water bills.

I use a debit card for almost 100% of my purchases. Which I consider cash, since I don't have to pay anymore than face value for my purchases. For me its convient, trackable and secure. I know of very few placed that don't take VISA debit and for the off chance that I do, then they don't get the sale. Also since it carries the VISA logo you have the same "insurance" that you would have with a credit card at no cost. I paid off all of my credit cards years ago and still have them but carry a balance for less than 30 days if I have to use them. In my mind if I have to pay the debt in full within 30 days then I can typically wait until I have available funds to buy the item. Credit card use is up as we are a credit driven society, and have become totally dependent on living above our means as a result of. However those credit card purchases do feed our economy so they are just as much needed as cash is.

I prefer to pay with cash. I like it cuz I always know how much I have. With credit cards, people often spend more than they have either because they are unsure how much money they have in the account or just because they can. Also, some places don't accept credit cards like you said wheras cash is accepted everywhere. I usually only use a credit card to buy things online and pay bills otherwise I always pay with cash.

For me, Credit card is absolute headache. I prefer Debit Card or Cash rather than credit card. No worries of sacrifice of security or giant interest payment at all in cash. Well, I recommend VCC (Virtual Crdit Card) rather than Credit cards. VCC is mostly secured and prepaid. And also no worries of interest over period. Thanks

Does this credit crisis look secure to you? - CArtoon bandit in a mask walking off with a persons drivers license
Cash is insecure, I think thats just a gimmick credit cards give you because certainly their interest rates they give you and hike up high as ever does not sound very secure to me. I think it is so popular because its just a peice of plastic and its easy to forget that it is money you are borrowing when you have a 3,000 dollar credit line, then its just a shopping spree. I use a checkcard and thats its, sounds crazy but thankfully I was a victim of identity theft by the time I turned 18 so I lost the need to "credit" after trying to get that taken care of...it didn't feel so secure trusting the banks and creditors to be there for me, it still shows up on my credit report but they say you can spend up to 5,000 getting it completely eliminated, money I do not have. Im all for the cash, if I lose that its my own fault. And what about back in the day, many immigrants stashed their money under their beds year upon year and I think only until the 80s did it become more common place to even "need" a bank or credit card.

We are not using credit card but debit card. yes it is safer to take cards with you than cash but you should also have a little cash in your wallet just in case. That's what we do too. Even in gas stations and other places, people are using cards instead of cash.

i use cash most of the time, but my cash is limited as i do not want to bring so much cash in my pocket. So if i were to buy something expensive, i'll use debit card. That way, I am still using my current money instead of future money.
