I was just wondering how many mylotters have read this book or seen it on broadway. I have yet to see it but i have read the book and have the soundtrack to the play. Its an amazing story and puts the wicked witch of the west in a better light. If you are a big reader and haven't read this book you should.

I've read the book but haven't seen the musical yet. It doesn't come to Dallas often. In fact, it's been nearly two years since it's been here. I'm holding out to see it on Broadway, though. A few people suggested reading the book first because it was a totally different experience if you did it the other way around. So I read the book. Now I'm just waiting to get back to NYC!

You're welcome! It certainly does put everything you've seen about The Wizard of Oz in another light, doesn't it? There's a sequel to Wicked called Son of A Witch but I haven't read that yet. I've been meaning to pick it up.

I started my love with Wicked when I heard the sound tract a few years later I read the book. It's a great book and one of the best musicals ever!!! and isn't Idina Menzel great?!!!!!

I've read the book. And though that it was a really interesting story. It's certainly a different way of seeing the story of the wizard of oz. It explains a lot about the wicked witch of the west. I really enjoyed it and definitely recommend this novel to anyone who enjoys reading and definitely to those who are a fan of the wizard of oz.

i started readin Son of a Witch. but its not nearly as enchanting as Wicked is, not even close. without Elphaba its so ...blah. Liir was only a minor character for me, i didnt care much about him at all. of course, iv hardly dented Son of a Witch yet so who knows how it will turn out. i will have to start over when i do read it again. its been so many months since i picked it up. it wouldnt hold my attention,

im in love with wicked. after reading it i went and read the wizard of oz and saw that it really does fit in with Baums work well. its very consistent. at one point Boq is mentioned in Baums work and i got really excited because i knew who that was, even though Boq has a microscopic role in the wizard of oz. i have read the book about 4 or 5 times. i love it more everytime. my favorite thing about it is it makes Oz seem like a real place. a lot less make believe. i am so excited because Wicked the musical is coming to minneapolis/st paul (not sure which city yet) this fall! im super estatic and am definitly going! i will update you on the musical once i see it!

I absolutely loved the book! I have always been a huge fan of the Wizard of Oz, so I found it extremely interesting to see the story from a different point of view. And I agree, it definitely does put the Wicked Witch of the West in a better light. Her difficulties growing up allow the reader to see the motivation behind her actions as an adult. I would love to see the play someday.
