It is not very surprising to see China on top of the medals table, but shocking to notice that Russia is not even in the Top 5 and has won just 3 Gold medals. Will China be the winner of most Gold by the end of this Games? or U.S. will be number 1? will Russia climb up to number 4 or 5?

China will take the most golds... because of events like shooting, gymnastics (thanks to 13 year old girls and poor judging), and table tennis. The US however will dominate the real sports like basketball, track and field, and swimming. They both won't do great in the other real sport, soccer.
The US will win the overall medal count by far though. Wait til track. The US is likely to go 1-2-3 in the shot put, medal in the disc, the 100, the 200, go 1-2 in the 400, win the 400 hurdles and have one other medal winner, medal in the 110 hurdles, the 1500, the 5k, maybe the marathon, and this is on the mens side. The women should medal in the 100, the 200, the 400, the pole vault (as will the men), the 1500, maybe in the 3k steeple chase and the 10k, maybe the marathon, and some of the other events. And don't forget about the multi-events. The US will get loaded up in these events.
