I took him to a hot spot and we can't get it to connect. Can you give me some advice on getting it to hook to the PSP? Thanks so much in advance.

!Make sure the WLAN switch is on! Step1: Go to Network Settings. Its at "Settings" (all the way left), then "Network Settings" (all the way down) Step2: Select "Infrastructure Mode" Step3: Select "[New Connection]" Step4: Select "Scan" Select the desired settings. Happy Surfing!

Ok, is ON up or down. My son is saying one way and I am saying the other way. I did do a scan and then I get something like a keyboard to type in a code. I am puzzeled.

sorry for the late reply. i was away studying for exams. i use the PSP slim so its more of right to turn on. But unless i'm much mistaken, the look of the switch is the same. If you look carefully there will be an arrow pointing in a direction. you just need to push the switch in that direction and its on. If i'm not wrong it should be up. another way to confirm WLAN is on will be that there will be a green indicator flashing next to the WLAN indicator which should be on the left of the PSP.

Sometimes in hot spot you have to know a key to access or you have to bee a access-have user. First try connect with WiFi in your home.

Do what skylinr said. If there is a code that simply means the hot spot is locked or has a password. I use my psp here at home. We have WiFi here. My dad uses password, so nobody else can use it. His not selfish or anything, but when a lot of people uses one WiFi connection, the connection gets slower. And besides, 4 people uses WiFi here at home.
