says i have spyware on my computer. My moms boyfriend who lives with us says it happened to him one time but its not a big deal. They are just trying to make you buy something until it goes away.
Has anyone else had this happen?

If it is what i think it is, then it's a rather nasty little spyware/malware.
In the last several months i've encountered six computers with this spyware or a variant.
SpybotS&D works well but is not completely guaranteed to rid your computer of the infestation. http://www.safer-networking.org
Wouldn't hurt to have Avast do a boot-scan. http://www.avast.com
Adaware is yet another good program to run. http://lavasoft.com
My last encounter with this thing i was forced to use an old tool called SmitfraudFix. http://siri.geekstogo.com/SmitfraudFix.php
As i said, it sounds like something i've been dealing with but i am not 100% certain. With a little more information on what exactly the popups say we can possibly figure it out.
