i usto bite my nails and for the past couple months I haven't so my nails are getting long. I keep them just above my finger tips. That way they don't break on me. I am lucky to have really strong nails. For me keeping them polished prevents me from biting them.

I have short nails. I would love to grow my nails but i cannot shape them for nuts. Thats why i end up chopping them.

At the moment, they're medium. I usually just let them do their own thing and I shape them each week. They have a tendency to grow quite long and then get brittle and start to break, at which point I will trim the down to short and start all over again. I have never had fake nails, though.
