" Seeing is believing " Do you agree? Is it necessary to see in your own eye to have belief on something or somebody? Why do somebody believe God,even if he/she does not see God in physical form? Pl. give your personal view points. Thanks.

Unless God has given us the power to see His truth then we can see many things with our own eyes and still not see the truth. This is one of the big reasons we can so easily be deceived. Also you can show something to 10 different people and each of them will see it slightly different. This is spoken of in the New Testament (KJV) in chapter 13 verses 14 & 15. We very often make incorrect decisions for the simple reason we are not correctly understanding what we are seeing. The same applies to our hearing. God wants us to be able to base our faith in Him on fact. I am a firm believer if we will accept God on blind faith that as soon as possible God will prove to us that he is as real as we are. Once He has done that it will help us to See more real truth about God. Many things we see in this life with our own eyes are not exactly the way we see them.

Thanks for nicely responding and sharing your personal views and philosophy.I appreciate your spiritual interpretation of the statement.God is omnipresent and pervades across all the diversities of creation. It is true that one can experience the existence and presence of God with deep devotion and faith. Your reference of the New Testament is convincing and acceptable. In fact, all our experiences in this world through our senses and mind is ordinarily limited to gross field of creation and is often illusive, not revealing the Absolute truth and reality. The absolute truth lies far beyond the all seeing,hearing,touching-beyond all thinking and all feeling. It transcends all ordinary experiences through our senses. I do agree with your views. Have a nice day!!

hai narayan ...how you doing i believe in "seeing is believing" - my reasons are as follows i) i see GOD ~ from the creations in the world, water ~ combination of hidrogen and oxygen .. try capturing both the gas in a bottle ~ do you get water ??? ii) i see GOD ~ in my mother ~ who went through hell to raise her kids iii) i see GOD ~ when i see the sunflower following the sun iv) i see GOD ~ when from nowhere there comes clouds, there comes rain v) i see GOD ~ a seed grows into plant, a plant has flowers, flowers change to fruit, fruit change to seed vi) i see GOD - when i see so many huge balls hanging on the space without any strings attached well the list will go on and on .. i) when someone tells me that my husband has an affair, i will want to see with my eyes before starting any fight with him ii) i see love ~ when my husband went against his family to marry me iii) i see love ~ when my mother endured domestic violence to raise me well the list will also go on and on .. i see everything i want to see and i believe everything i want to believe .. this description is only my personal view and not to hurt anyone

hai sanjana, many thanks for nicely responding and giving a meaningful and spiritual interpretation of the statement.God is all pervading in all the diversities of creation,at the subtlest level. It is nice that you do experience the absolute being, remaining in the field of relative existence of the world.I understand that our experience is ordinarily limited to the gross field of creation. The subtle field is beyond our ordinary range of experience. Therefore,to experience the absolute reality which is nothing but the "Trscendental Being",it is necessary to suitably develop the faculty of experience. The transcendental state of Being lies beyond all seeing,hearing,touching-beyond all thinking and all feeling. It is easily experienced through the system transcendental meditation. This is only my personal views and experience and is directed to only express what I believe. Have a nice day !!

I don't agree with seeing is believing. The mere fact that you believe in it, I guess there is no need to see it. It's like love, you know it's there like a wind but you can not exactly say that what you are seeing is a gesture of love (or love itself). Same with believing in God, you know that he is there existing but you can not see him but the power that is emanating from the fact that you believe in him is quite strong. :)

I do not agree that seeing is believing. I read somewhere that "the best things in life cannot be seen, but must be felt with the heart." How about music, the strains of a beautiful love song? How about the wind? Everybody talks about the wind, but who has seen it. How about love? Everybody talks about love, believes in love, has been in love, or has been brokenhearted because of love. And yet can you show me love? Even hurt and pain, do you believe in them? But have you seen them? Trust, kindness, affection, faith: who has seen them? But we believe in them. And if the best of life cannot be seen, why should God show Himself to us in physical, destructible form?
