emo music?pls help help to make me understand

My nephew loves emo music and he's always bugginh me to download songs for him. I also kinda like some of it, but not all. hehehehehe. What exactly do you want to know about emo music? I'll just let you know the basics first unless you have other specific questions. 8) Emo originated from hardcore punk. It's usually laced with emotions (pain,angst,hate,etc.), and mostly sang in a very emotional manner (more shouting than singing). But these are usually songs that have deep meanings for it's artist and listeners. Interpretations of the song and its meaning may differ depending on the listener. 8) popular emo bands are dashboard confessional, the all-american rejects, typecast, and my chenical romance. 8)

I don't understand either why kids would love EMO music. Maybe because they're emotional and on identity crisis (LOL). Good evening dong.
