Our 5th Baby Has Finally Made Her Grand Entrance

Our Newest Family Addition - Welcome to the world my littlest little angel. You are so perfect in every way my baby girl, though I wish you would sleep more at night and less during the day!

On the 11 August 2008 at 11:41pm (AEST), our 5th daughter came into the world. She weighed 3.065kg and was 49cm long. We have named her Aralia Dawn. My labour was less than an hour and our baby was almost born in the back of an ambulance. Not kidding, the central locking played up when we got to the hospital!!!!Our newest addition to our already large family is doing well, as am I even through the lack of real sleep. There are 4 big sisters here that fight over who is going to give their baby sister a hug first, but at least there is very little jealousy towards little Aralia. I know it has taken a few days to get the announcement out here on mylot, but everytime I have sat down to make it, there is a little squeak from our bedroom that means no point in getting started because I wouldn't get to finish. Tonight is different, I'm going to finish this no matter what! So, for those members who have been wondering how much longer, the wait is over! She is here and is just perfect! I've even got a photo to share with you.

Congratulations on the arrival of your New addition. I am sure she is the precious apple of your eye just like all of your other kids. So now you have 5 girls? Wow... Almost a Volleyball team. Thanks for sharing the picture of her, and sharing her with us. Wishing you the best.

Thank you. She is a little gem for us, and fitting in so well with her big sisters. 5 little treasures who bring a lot of joy to our lives. 2 more, and we would have a netball team. I think my body needs a break though, as I have been pregnant almost non stop for 3 years.

Congratulations! I can't believe your labor was so short! And you didn't have any pain killers? I mean there probably wasn't enough time to get you any in the first place since she came so quickly. I am glad to hear that everyone else is taking to her so quickly. Here's hoping you can get some more shut eye! : )

Yep, very short. Definitely no time for pain relief, not even gas! She certainly is smothered by her big sisters, and doesn't she love it! lol.

Actually, they are removed when I'm holding her. I've nursed them through 4 babies already and I am determined they will last the 5th! lol.

Thanks. She's 5 months old now and starting to crawl already, so we have to be very careful where we walk now! lol.

Joyous congratulations and a lovely big welcoming hug to Aralia Dawn. It sounds to have been an easy delivery and so I guess she will be an easy baby, by now you probably know the ropes...I feel a bit sorry for hubby though, he is definitely out numbered but I guess he has heard that enough times already. I wish you and your family much happiness throughout your lives.

So far she is a very easy baby. Only thing we seem to have a problem with is that we have to change her clothes and bedding every nappy change! It seems that nappies even for newborns just don't fit her properly. Yes, hubby is rather outnumbered, but he loves his little girls. He will just have to make do with his son from a previous marriage. Oh well, he better get used to having to book the toilet 2 weeks in advance! lol.

Awww how perfect she is sooo cute! We have 7 kids and are raising our grandaughter she is now 19 months and we have had her here since birth and it is so great having a babe in the house again, even with a total of 5 kids in the house still. Hmmm does your husband feel a little out numbered? LOL Congrats

LOL! The caravan comment got me, my son who was the 2nd born was getting tired of girls too. Before him was a girl and after him was twin girls and then another girl. With my last pregnancy he was like it BETTER BE A BOY and if it isnt can we trade her in.. lol

Having a baby around is pure magic. Right now, she is starting to stir which means feed time shortly, but she is so contented and easy to look after. Gosh, 7 kids! You made it to a netball team! lol. 19 months is a very challenging age, but a nice one just the same. Yes, my husband is rather out numbered. The teen years are going to be the worst, and I think he is already hunting down a caravan to park out the back so he can escape!

Congratulations on the birth of your little baby girl Aralia Dawn. That is a pretty name that is is bound to like when she is older. She looks adorable and so I am sure her old sisters really love her. Your labor was incredibly quick and so it was lucky that she wasn't born in the back of the ambulance. I hope that Aralia Dawan will have a long and happy life, and give you lots of joy. Good luck.

What a lovely photo, and congratulations! Your little girl must have grown a lot since this post as it is dated 6 months ago. She must be getting cuter by the day. Before you know it she will be crawling and standing up and walking straight into your arms. Beautiful moments!

That's great to hear, she seems to be doing just fine . Ah, the chasing of young toddlers around the house... lol. My fosterbrother is 2½ years old and I remember very well when he started to walk. I was lucky enough to be home and in the same room at that time. He was in the kitchen, he stood up without any support with the biggest smile I ever saw. It was wonderfull! And out of no where he started walking several steps which he hadn't tried before, and within the hour he was trotting around with some minor fall backs here and there. I know you will enjoy it just as much, have a great day!

Thank you Cyberfluf, She is almost crawling now, and is certainly rolling around the floor. It won't be long and we will be having to chase her everywhere, and rescue the couch from her jumping on it lol. Yes, there are many beautiful moments, the best being snuggled up with her just before bedtime and watching her drift off to sleep. It is the only quiet time she and I get with the other 4 running around during the day! lol.

She is the dream baby that everyone wants. No sleep issues now, feeding is grand and she is just so happy and content. I reckon she is going to be the boss of the house though, her big sisters let her get away with everything! lol.

Cheeky Baby - At 9 months of age, Aralia is showing just how cheeky she can be. Seen in this picture, she has mastered the art of standing up. Next step will be walking. Also mastered, is the art of being the family clown. No sad sacks when this one is around!
Thanks Dian,She is just the cheekiest baby. So full of mischief and loves being a terror to her big sisters! lol. She isn't walking yet, but very close to it. I'm adding the latest picture for you, taken at our new house.

Well, 5 months on, there are about 4 teeth ready to pop, she is almost sitting up by herself and is doing something that vaguely resembles the start of crawling. She is a little angel, especially now she sleeps through the night. I am planning of sharing some more pics soon, but with time being limited and a super slow internet connection (despite being broadband), it isn't easy. And neither is keeping her still to take a decent shot! lol. I guess that is why digital cameras are so handy.

Congratulations! She is just beautiful. It is wonderful that you have been blessed with 5 girls. Daughters grow up to be so much closer to their mothers than sons do. Once a daughter is married, they always come to mom for advice. Enjoy your lovely family.
