Phelps or Ussain Bolt? Whoes performance thrilled you more?

Ussain "Bolt of Lightning" - Ussain"Bolt of Lightning"

I'm taking nothing away from Phelps in winning 8 Gold medals in one Olympics. But i'm more thrilled to see how well Ussain Bolt runs than the swimming of Phelps. What i liked more about Bolt is his "rawness". He looks like an unfinished product which has a lot more to offer. For him climbing to the top of the world is all fun, such is his natural brilliance and abundance, its really a no contest when this guy is competing with other "humans", Truly amazing!!! Are you thrilled at his performance just like me?

It will definitely be Ussain Bolt for me, because i like to watch althetics events, esepcially running, because i'm also in running.. lol =D PLus, Bolt is not a actual hot favourite b4 the olympics and his forte is not in the 100m, and so it makes it even more interesting to watch him, as he managed to break the 9.74s record ^_^ hehe As he's still new to the olympics, that's y he has got the 'dark horse' factor as compared to michael phelps, whom has already shown his prowess in athens 2004.. haha.. And so, it's bolt's performance whom impressed and thrill me more than phelps ^_^

Yes! Bolt was raw and i like raw talents, and did u hear what his coach said recently? He said that bolt could have made at least 9.52 if he hadn't started his celebrations before the finish line! Remember this was not an school race... it is Olympics and he is making mockery of other "so called" top athletes!!! it will take ages to see a performance like this in a stage as huge as Olympics, well...if bolt is still around then we could well see it again in next Olympics!

LOL =D YEah, at least he is being arrogant for a good reason as he managed to beat the former 100m recorder holder by almost 10s or more.. lol =D If that still dun give him a chance or valid reason to slow down to celebrate, then what else?? lol

I find Bolt too showy.. so my vote goes to Phelps! Phelps has nice bods too. I read in many reports that he is a very humble boy. I like such athletes.

I'm not looking into all such things... initially i too used to dislike showy sports persons, but to be showy and at the same time able to conquer the world is totally different thing, it shows their believe in them selves, the reserve they have got above others, abundance, and i like people with abundance even if they are a bit showy as long as they don't get over the line. For me watching bolt was more entertaining than watching Phelps, Phelps was professional in his approach but bolt was "RAW"!

Usain Bolt - Usain Bolt celebrating his Olympic Gold Medal.
They are both extraordinary athletes. I am more fond of Usain Bolt. He's makes it look easy and funny. It's true he only won 3 gold medals compared to Phelps's 8, but, without undermining his performance, Phelps won more medals because there are more events on the same distance in swimming than in running... On the other hand, Michael Phelps is at his second successful Olympic Games edition. They say it's easier to get in front than to stay there. It remains to be seen how much can Bolt stay on top of everyone else in the sprint races.

I agree. The way he ran the last 20 meters or so was simply... unnatural for a sprint race!

The authoritative nature of bolt's victory is what impressed me most, he made it look as if he is running along with some school kids!!! Having no competition at the top of the world is some thing very rare to see.

I think it's fantastic that both people were able to acomplish so lofty of a goal. Although I don't really know who the other guy is but Phelps was amazing this time around. The big question is whether anyone else will ever be able to beat the goal.

Your question is which is more thrilling, and I'd have to say Bolt, aside from that I think both were great.

PHELPS ALL DAY It seems as if america is blinded by the fact that michale phelps is amazing. He wont 8 gold medals and set 7 world records. Before the olymmpic that was his goal, and he conquered it. Michael Phelps is going down in history as the best olympian we have seen. Then a night after he returns to baltimore, Usain Bolt wins the 100m and everyone goes crazy. Im not trying to take anythin away from this man, because he is outstanding too. But my poitn is, there is no comparison to Michael Phelps. If i were Phelps, i would take it as dosrespect. Usain is a tremedous athlete standng at 6 foot 5 and makes the 100m look easy but he is NO WHERE compared to PHELPS.

Again i'm taking nothing away from phelps! Bolt got 2 gold medals aswell and that too with world records, i dont know if he is competing in 400 meters, if then he might easily get another one. Phelps is a seasoned customer, this is his second olympics and we all expected him to do big this time and he did! congratulations! But as for Bolt its a total surprise that some one will come up with such commanding performance. I liked his "RAWNESS" more than any thing else, I'm talking here about the entertainment value, and i enjoyed Both his gold medals runs than Phelp's.

I don't want to take anything away from Phelps... or Bolt! Comparing the two is like comparing apples and oranges. In swimming it is much easier to win multiple events as the training is not as different as it is in track. The stress on your body is lessoned in the pool as you are in water, so you can train longer too. However, 8 gold medals is insane, and in many events was dominating. Other races were thrilling. On the other hand, Bolt demolished the WR in the 100, and broke one of the most well respected records in the 200, running into a HEADWIND! And he looked so good doing it! And one thing about swimming is that while every country has the ability to train for track, it is much more difficult for poorer countries to train for swimming, which limits the talent pool more. But my point is, people being amazed by Bolt is well deserved. And both are amazing athletes that are hard to compare!
