Youngest MOM??

I was having a conversation with my mom earlier today and she told me one of her co workers daughter is pregnant..Well the girl is only 12 and extremely immature.
Since lately I've been hearing alot about teen pregnancy I didn't pay much attention.
My mom got kind of mad at me and asked me if I could imagine being a dad at that age and I said no..thats way too young to be a dad..and somehow the conversation went to who was the youngest mom ever i said i heard of a 9 year old and she said i was 4 years too late..she has heard of a 5 yr old!!
Being me and not believeing her i googled it and its true..she was only 5 and they never found who the father of the baby was..
What do you think of this ?I'm still in shock :[

Yes, she was five and the father of the baby was an uncle although the family never quite admitted to it. Last I heard the baby is being raised as the girl's sibling. What a nightmare that must have been for her.
Fertility starts before menstruation, and menstruation in some cases can start in young kids, even as young as five. Something with the hormones.
Personally, I feel sorry for those teens. I don't think they realized what they got themselves into, even if they wanted to get pregnant. Kids raising kids. Unfortunately a sad fact of today's society.
