Ice cream maker

There was a garage sale near my house and went to see what are all stuff they have. I saw a machine sort of thing and asked the person who was next to the garage sale about this and he said its an ice cream maker. I know how to eat ice cream. I have seen people making ice cream in food network. But was very curious about the machine. Since i didn't know anything about ice cream making, my husband told me not to buy it this time. Do you guys have ice cream maker, how long will it take to make ice cream? can u please tell me

I just bought an ice cream ball, which is basically an ice cream maker that you roll around. Since I try to avoid sugar I was planning on mkaing my own ice cream. You follow a recipe for ther ice cream itself, put it in the inside container with rock salt and ice on the outside.Older models you sort of churn it around. The ball you roll around, same concept, keep the inside container moving and freezing the contents. I have not had the time to try it yet, but I do know it works.

I can't quite remember. I remember my mother having one years ago when I was a child. She would make homemade icecream for church dinners and such. I don't remember it taking to long myself. i think maybe a hour or so.
