Snow Crab Legs - Awesome for Dinner
United States

Ok, so I make a pork chop dinner for the family and a little something extra for me. For me I have about 1 lb of shrimp that I deep fried and about 3 lbs of boiled snow crab legs. The crab legs were boiled in Old Bay seasonings. So I setup my eating area, paper is down, butter has been melted and seasoned with lemon juice and pepper. All is well. With the speed of a true shellfish eater, I start digging into the shrimp. Enter my girls... I know they like the taste of shrimp and crab. But I was not ready for what happen next. They asked me if they could have some, and me being a good parent said sure. I was smiling because I knew they had to be filled from the dinner they just ate. The youngest one tried some and looked back at the others and gave what I can only assume is the smirk of approval. And then BOOM!, like they hadn't been fed in weeks, they assaulted my shrimp and violated my crab legs.. It was a massacre...butter was splashing... there were shells popping all over my neatly laid out eating station. I tried to get my fair share of the crab legs, but they had a plan in motion that I did not figure out until it was too late. One would give me a small section of crab to open for them while the others assaulted more easily dispatchable segments of crab legs. All in all, the food was great. I came away with a fair portion of shrimp, a few leg segments and a couple claws. It ended well as the two younger ones gave me a talking crab claw puppet show, by pulling and pushing on the ligaments in the claws. The moral of this dinner story is when you share food with your little ones, set limitations or pay the price.

It's always fun watching a family eat together. Kids will rob the plate like there's no tomorrow. Much better that way than cook something and the kids will not eat the foods because it doesn't taste good.

True , but at the same time if they were any more aggressive, PETA would have raided my home.

Lol, from the way your title was phrased I thought you had had an accident.

It was an accident, poor little crab legs had no idea what was about to happen. This is how the crab legs and I were looking during the assault.

This is one of the best stories I've heard in a while. LOL Sounds like something my daughter would try to pull on me. Don't you just wonder where they put all that food at?

I wonder everytime I look at my grocery store receipt. About $250 every two weeks. I thought it was rough when they were in pampers.

Haha...that was funny the way you told it. But it sounded like you did enjoy it, even when your legs were overrun, your snowcrab legs, that is LOL

I know my girls can eat, that's why I tried to be smart and feed them first. That's what I get for under estimating them.

Kids can be sneaky sometimes. They all got together and ganged up on you huh? Sounds like a fun night, even if your crab legs vanished faster than you thought they would.
