"Man is a narcissistic species by nature. We have colonized the four corners of our tiny planet. But we are not the pinnacle of so-called evolution. That honor belons to the lowly cockroach. Capable of living for months without food. Remaining alive headless for weeks at a time. Resistant to radiation. If God has indeed created Himself in His own image, then i submit to you that God is a Cockroach." - Mohinder Suresh, Heroes. What do you think? Of course you'd say God is not a cockroach. But set aside the things you've learned in school and catechism. Or your beleifs as a christian (assuming you're a christian). Pretend that we do not know what we already know about God. Would you consider Suresh's argument?

I do agree to some degree that alot of us do feel self important and very much KING of the world and that this way of thinking causes us to be negligent and take everything for granted. We have so many fantastic and wonderful creatures on this earth i mean the pure resiliance of cockroaches as you say is mindblowing. The way the planet itself maintains that specific balance for everything to thrive the balance and interaction that each living thing has on everything around it. From the largest of mammals down to the compesition of the soil and the tiniest of microscopic organisms. The fact that we are already exploring space yet we still haven't reached the very depths of our own oceans is quite awe inspiring, it shows that we still have a long way to go. We certainly haven't mastered it all yet! I was raised catholic went to sunday school, mass, the whole shebang but my mum has never forced us to believe in anything we didn't want to and has always answered our questions as best she can. I'm very spiritual by nature i believe things happen for a reason and each of our actions have a ripple effect on those around us, that good is rewarded and evil will come back 3 fold. I am still out on the whole god issue as i do believe there is definately a higher power however i find it very hard to believe that it is a man i think more an entity/lifeforce rather than lifeform. There are still many things we do not know about life, earth and our existance. Maybe each lesson in life will bring us closer to the answers and closer to the truth i do believe eventually when we're ready all will be revealed but as we're all at different stages of learning some may gain the snwers quicker than others and then they may guide others along the right path.

How true. I totally aggree with you. Even though i'm a beleiver in God, I'm still open on what God might be, human, spirit, entity. I can not and refuse to deny the fact that God does not exist. If we look around us and see the amazing things surrounding us, it would a lot of theories to explain how such things exist if we refuse to believe the involvement of a Higher being. God may take any form. 8)

While I agree with the power of cockroaches, I do not follow Mohinder's argument. God is supposed to be perfect (I don't believe in God, but thats ok), and obviously, in every creature, included the cockroach, one can find imperfections. If you can find imperfections in something, then it stands to reason that it cannot be the Christian version of God. I submit to you that God is not something of an earthly form (assuming he existed).

Everyone can see, it is proved on MyLot in this discussion that Hindus (Indians) have no belief. What else can we hear from such dumb heads in 21st century when science has invented so much and almost all people are educated. These Hindus are still thinking cow, sun, moon, pieces of stone which are their idols sitting idol all the time and can't do anything as their gods. I guess they have more than 100 gods and all are fake. Their religon is full of fairy tales. I totally 100% disagree with you. I know I shall be given "-" on this, so what, go ahead Mr. Suresh (Harami) and do it. AND NO HARD FEELINGS please, all is true and Universal fact you have to admit.

Actually,my friend, i'm not Mr Suresh, He's just a fictional character in a TV show that i love to watch. Hehehehe. Anyway no offense taken. Since i opened up the discussion i know for a fact that there will always be different opinions here and i welcome everybody's opinion. And no, i bever give "-" ratings to anyone because i believe that everyone is entitled to thier opinion. I respect everybody's beleifs and opinions.

Interesting topic. Really, the cockroach is capable of living for few months wt out foods? And still alive even there's no head attach in the body? That's really amazing. But I refused to acknowledge that God is cockroach.

Yep. The cockroach is quite amazing. But even though it is capable of such amazing survival feats, it's simplicity is what makes it amazing. It's Body mechanism is so simple that, unlike humans, it is wired only for survival. I guess that's why we humans die young, we're so complicated! Hehehehe. Dont you think so?

At this point, belief is what we test. We have no solid proofs that God is man. But that is what we believe and man's faith is very strong. God is also Holy because that is what the Scriptures teach us. It is up to us to believe in it or not. Your questions are very interesting and somehow difficult. I can't answer them solidly but all I could say is the human faith is what drives these thinking and reasoning. When faith becomes so strong it suddenly becomes a fact or a common truth. Faith is the center of things if religion is being talked about..

As in Hebrews 11:1 "Faith is the substance of things hoped for; the evidence of things not seen." I memorized that. Hehehehe. It's true that there'll never be a solid answer to all me questions, but what matters is we're thinking about it and trying to consider possible answers. We're also sort of testing our faith on how far we can defend our beleifs. I know religions is such a hard topic to resolve. But that's what makes it interesting. 8)

I have a very opened mind, I would consider anything, I like a little proof and I am not one to believe we humans are the superior, so I think why not the creator could very well be of a non-human....

I'm a christian but i do personally think that God could be in any form. I just refer to God as the Supreme being, and not gender-specific. I like open-minded people. Makes room for a good intellectually stimulating dicussion. 8)

No I don't think God is a cockroach even if I don't know how He looks like beforehand. Why? Why in the world would I think God to be an insect if I know humans are better organisms than any of this world. True that cockroaches have special abilities but remember, we have worth loads more of capabilities compared to them. We can think. That is the best feature of men. So, God is of man form. Because He is the Mighty Thinker and Creator.

Good point. 8) But if God is in the form of man,why is he Holy and we are not? Why is he perfect and we arent? Just curious. And wanting more ideas from you, friend. 8)
