my brother's wedding will be next month, his bride chose me as her Maid of Honor.. and there goes the wedding apprehensions again.. everytime I'm attending a wedding, I'm usually thinking an escape plan before the host calls all single ladies to catch the brides bouquet, I......... don't like that game! and I've never tried it in a wedding before.. and never would! catching the bouquet implies two things: that if you're not yet married but in a relationship-you'll be the next bride for it will be a sign for your boyfriend to make a proposal, and for single ladies like me, its the time to make yourself available.. Most poeple seem to think that every girl wants to catch it but actually they really don't.. one thing I hate the most is letting the world know that your single, available, and ready for any guy any time, in other words...despearate.. and I'm not that desperate! NO offense for those pro-bouquet catchers... this is just my opinion.. now I wanna know your opinions too...

hahah NO! NEVER! i honestly hate this game, because it puts people on the spot. and as i am quite introverted, i absolutely hate being put on the spot. i also don't like the way they call out ladies who don't voluntarily join the game. i was called out like once (yeah because i look like a kid so people don't usually think about me when they play this game) but i ignored it hahah i'm so obstinate. with the very small number of people getting up to join at their own accord, it is evident that this game is so unpopular nowadays and yet some people insist on still having it. fortunately though i have a cousin and a friend who completely omitted the games portion of the wedding. at one of my cousin's wedding, she did the bouquet game while exiting the church and it's funny because NOBODY tried to catch it at all and it just fell on the floor, so her sister just picked it up. people made up a bad twist to this game though. now they do it with the bride throwing rose after rose while the ladies try to catch one. if you don't catch a rose, you get the bouquet and then you'd have to endure the embarrassing antics. i guess you can tell by the length of this post just how much i dislike this game hahahah

I don't mind the game but I don't like participating in it because I'm 37 years old and I've never been married, don't have any kids and if I have to participate it makes me feel inadequate because I'm this old and don't have a husband or a boyfriend. But that's just me.

Its just such an old tradition that is!!catcing the brides bouquet, well ive never caught one yet!!lol, but im sure that is all it is ,a tradition, and a bit like giving the bride a wooden spoon with a ribbon on or a lucky horseshoe..and like confetti throwing..its just all part of the fun of getting married!
