Do You READ and RIDE?

oh yes i do..i often do that whenever we have exams..as you know our course is full of memorization..^_^ but if i am reading i sit at the far end of the jeepney so that nobody can disturb me and i can't disturb others as well..i like sitting there in the far end so that nobody will ask me to give their money to the driver..^_^ in that way i will not be disturbed and somehow concentrate in what i am doing.

I noticed that also. College students study on the jeepney. Well, that's ok for them, maybe. I couldn't concentrate reading on a jeepney. During my college days, I used to study at home or in the library. Good day!

Yes, you are right. I used to do the same thing during my student days, but only when the examinations are going on! Whether riding or sitting, i used to read and revise important portions for the examination. Thanks for making me go back to those pleasant and interesting days!

It has been a long time since my means of transportation was on the public bus or train, but often times I would read. Sometimes for pleasure to pass the time or sometimes if I had studying that I didn't do before traveling. If I am flying I use reading to pass the time, unless I am talking to seat mate.

yes, i actually do when i have exams. i really don't get to study very well at night or i need to refresh my mind (blame it on my lousy study habits) so i read up while on the way to the exam. but i still am mindful of the other passengers so i don't think my studying is a problem to them. ;D

yea i would study on the way to school using pt all the time. i believe i used to take up another seat to have allmy stuff layed out. it was a 45 min bus ride everyday to my school.

I never feel comfortable enough to read while on public transportation. I concentrate a great deal when I read and I am afraid of missing my stop or not noticing some kind of trouble I should be aware of. I love to read when riding in a car with my family.

I used to do the same thing to keep up my grades. Before examinations i.e. the exam is in the morning and while going to the examination hall, i tried to go through everything once again, i called this revision just to refresh my mind. The schools days are golden age in everyone's life which you remember all your life. I wish those days come back but they can't.

I used to do that too. I read on the bus and train, but not to catch up on my grades but to indulge in some romantic novels. Now, I've got no time for romantic novels. I don't even have much time to read the newspaper with my daughter always wanting my attention. I'm waiting for her to be old enough to read her own books when we take rides on the bus or train. Then I can start carrying a book along to read. At this moment, how do I read when she's bouncing on my lap?

If I travel on long journeys on public transport I will read and take advantage of the fact that someone else is driving. Unless I am trying to sleep or look at the scenery.

I still do.. I go to school via FX, so it's quite comfotable to read while in there. But I havent experienced reading while in a jeepney.

nice posting you have there wendhieRN! well, i ain't a student anymore but i surely bring a book whenever i travel. i have tried it not only once but couple of times already and even do the practice most of the time. it is just that i want to spend my travel time in a more fruitful and productive way. at least, i have something new to learn at the same time i travel. good enough that i am not the typical kind of person who gets headache from doing it. happy mylotting and enjoy reading!

I did the same thing when I was a student.. During that time I could not even read my notes due to hectic schedule and tiring duties...

I do the same even now.. and it happened even yesterday i had to prepare for my RDNA and Microbial BT subjects.. i was sitting in my college bus early morning im in bus even before the sun has raised up.. and it was very cool ,the day was cool i was sitting in the window seat and i couldn't able to manage the pages which were flying in air like anything.. my friends are studious like i do.. if i dont read then i cannot make up my marks and i cant answer the questions my mam asks me.. I dont really enjoy it but i do enjoy it lol.. yes half enjoyment and half hatred :) happy mylotting

I read while taking the bus all the time, except for when the bus is very crowded and it becomes impossible or uncomfortable to read, when the ride is too short to read or I have to focus on not missing my stop, or the ride is too bumpy. And, I especially do this when I am taking college classes. Sometimes life as a college student gets so busy and so hectic that it's hard to get enough study time in otherwise.

Reading while on a moving vehicle hurts my eyes so I don't do that.

I don't use public transport very often and when i do it's usually because it's for a very long journey. i go on the train and always take a book with me as it helps to pass the time - i find travelling quite boring otherwise! I don't think i wouldn't notice if other people wanted me to move though!! xxx

I used to do that too, missed quite a few bus stops, had to make the return journey and ended up late for school. Those were the mugging days, but really fun.
