New Dog?

So I volunteer at a local pet adoption center. Today several local rescue groups were having adopt-a-thons at the center, and one of the groups was having a bake sale! So I brought my boyfriend along so he could see where I volunteer, and also to buy some baked goods to help homeless animals! A few months ago, I adopted a mouse from a local rescue group, and the foster mom of the mouse was there at the adopt-a-thon. So I stopped and talked to her and showed her some recent photos of my mouse. Then I looked around and didn't see my boyfriend anywhere! I walked around the center looking for him- when I finally found him he was walking one of the dogs up for adoption! Then he started asking me about the adoption process! So we met with the foster mom of the dog, then went home and filled out an application! I had no idea my boyfriend was the least bit interested in getting a dog! His old apartment wouldn't allow dogs. So when he finally moved into a place that allowed pets, I asked him if he wanted a dog. He said it was too expensive! But apparently he's been considering it for a few months now and has even been figuring out his budget so that he could afford one! We know there's another couple who put an application in on the dog we're interested in, so we're trying not to get our hopes up. If it happens, that's great! If not, there are plenty of other dogs that need homes. I'm so excited! I'll be sure to keep everyone updated on the situation!
