Just curious how many of you are going to school on-line and how you like it? What school do you go to and why did you choose that school? Do you find distance learning to be easier than the traditional classroom?

Howdy! I attend Phoenix University and I absolutely love it. I've done the traditional college thing and I much prefer the online environment for the following reasons: 1. I don't have anyone standing over my shoulder watching what I'm doing. 2. It saves on gas. 3. I don't have to worry about missing class due to bad weather, sickness and I'm able to go to appointments. 4. I study and "go to class" on my own schedule, no someone else's. 5. In most subjects they don't give tests, per se, but instead you have projects and papers that have to be completed, which suits me much better and helps me retain the information. With tests you study and study and then once the test is over you forget a lot of the information. 6. The credits are much cheaper. A semester at the college here in town costs about $3000 whereas a semester at Phoenix costs about $1900 and that includes books. 7. I don't have to sit and listen to a prof drone on and on about something. I much prefer to just get my assignments and go to work. The instructors at Phoenix are there whenever I need them, though. They're available either by email or by phone. I'm enjoying my experience with Phoenix very much but the online environment is not for everyone. It needs to be looked into carefully. If you are a self starter and do not need a lot of direction then you would do fine. However, if you're the type of person who needs to have more attention from a prof or needs the live interaction of other students it may not be your cup of tea. Hope this helps.

Hi there! I take classes online from my hometown college. I love online classes because they normally give you all of your work up front and the deadlines and you can get ahead if you are able. Sometimes with the more difficult classes it is harder if you need tutoring assistance but for the most part I have found all of my teachers to be extremely helpful.
