The Wiz; a classic musical or just an old movie not worth watching?

I've seen The Wiz and I think the songs and the movie are timeless. We had the musical on stage her in Holland, for the first time ever was it played in a european country and I loved it a lot; I actually saw it two times! How do you like this musical? Have you seen it life? Did you enjoy watching the video and why (not)?

It makes me feel old to hear it referred to as an "old movie" because I saw it in theatres when it first came out. It was awful then and it is awful now. I love musicals and really old movies so it has nothing to do with either of those things. I loved the cast and one or two of the songs are pretty good but it was hard even then to think of Diana Ross as Dorothy because she was about 20 years too old for the part and the script was dreadful.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make anyone feel old by calling it an old movie. Perhaps I should've called it a less recent or old[i]er[/em] movie? . I think you have made your point why you don't like it and I appreciate your response. Thanks for making an effort to respond to my discussion.
