The capital city of Syria is Damascus. It is on the continent of Asia. Some neighboring countries are; Iraq, Israel, Turkey, Jordan and Lebanon. Well i want to know how many of u have been to this place or the neighbouring countries. And how was your experiance? I also want to know whether vegetarian food is available there or not? As my brother is vegertarian. Cheers, Tutul

Hi Tutul, Your brother must be feeling both wonderful and apprehensive about going to a foreign nation on work. I have never been there but I believe the entire west Asia is physically very beautiful with sea and deserts and mountains all together. Do forward us pics when he sends them to you. sorry, could not be of much help. Regarding veg food, I don’t think he will find exclusive veg restaurants in a Muslim nation and I don’t think Syria so cosmopolitan like UAE or Saudi Arabia that you will find exclusive veg Indian restaurants…however I have very high regards for my South Indian compatriots, they are very very resilient and your brother may just find some idli-dosa joint there. BTW…if he is veg by choice then of course he can go to any restaurant and eat just veg, but if he is veg by religious compulsion, then its difficult.

Hello there, Thanks for your reply. Well my brother is 26 and I don’t think he is apprehensive about going to Syria. He is bold and loves adventure and exploring new places. I know it’s surrounded by Iraq and at the moment it’s not very peaceful. Well he is going on a work project and I don’t think he will get the time to c the deserts and other beautiful things, which Syria has. Regarding food he is very picky and loves to eat veg foods only. There is no compulsion but he doesn’t likes to eat meat. And u rightly said that it’s going to be difficult in a Muslim nation. I wish him good luck and hope he enjoys his stay there. Thanks again and happy mylotting. Cheers, Tutul
