How to partition?

I newbie with ubuntu. And i want to partition in ubuntu. My Ubuntu is already installed. So my hard-disk didn't partition yet. I tried with Gnome Partition Editor but i can't unmount because which i want unmount is root(system file that keep running while ubuntu run). Did someone know how to partition if i already istalled it?

Have you tried with Partition Magic? I have the boot CD MiniPE and it boot and loads a lot of utilities, in one of the list is Partition Magic and you can use it to create partitions of any kind of OS.. in this case you need to create ext3 right? use this utility and tell your results.. good luck
