what do you do when you are stressed

I heard some upsetting news this weekend and I was very angry, usually when I am angry I shout and I end up saying thing which I did not mean to say, but this time I cried and I go to bed and when I wake up that feel was gone I feel like myself again. Up to now I did not contact the person who upset me and I afraid that I might be on denial and every one is asking me how can I be so cool after this.I have realise that shouting at people/doing things that I might regret at the end it's not helping but it's taking away what belongs to me like my dignity, pride etc and it's making things worse. I just need peace that's all. Tell me what's the right way of dealing with anger/what do you do when you angry.
