Is Mobile Phone Important

Why are mobile phones becoming so important? There were people living when they didn't even existed and today they are some sort of a need! Why? Why? What is the reason and share your views?

Some may have the need, i think they are an added expense and refere to them as tracking devices. I let people know where I will be and if it is urgent where and when I can be reached. They cause traffic accidents, and grief more than they help in my opinion. Although a few times while shopping I did wish I had one. ha ha
