before going to sleep last night, the tv was on with a feature about whale sharks ("butanding" in our language). my husband, being an animal lover, began his litany on how whale sharks are fishes and whales are mammals. dumb as i was, i started arguing (in vain) about how could it be, that two animals living under the water be of different species? knowing my innate naivety on the subject, he patiently explained how that is possible. anyways, that's one interesting thing i learned as of late.
share one interesting you've learned lately. maybe we'll learn something new from each other's posts :)

I watch Animal planet with my son everyday and I learnt a very interesting thing about termites yesterday. Termites build their houses with mud and saliva and when they dry they are like concrete. They can also survive forest fire. I was amazed seeing the documentary.
