Who is "Donna Leon"

I ran into a lot of free Donna Leon books, all in the recycles and I couldn't pass them up because they looked very mysterious and interesting but can someone tell me if their worth my time. One book says she is an International Bestseller for her book "Blood from a Stone" and "Through a Glass Darkly" but I have never heard of her. Other books: "A Noble Radiance," "Acqua Alta" "Death and Judgement" Their in perfect condition but if I find she's not my stye of writer then I'd love to give them to the library because theres a book lover just waiting to run into them.
