What would you do if your doctor told you, you only had six months to live? I don't know what I would do, I think I would probably spend my first few days crying and trying to grasp what would be the last of my reality. The reason I am asking this is because one of my neighbors was told he only had 6 months to live. I knew he was sick, I just didn't know it was this serious.

Well, some people live for years, even after being proclaimed by the doctors that they aren't long for this world. So I wouldn't be so hasty as to quickly drop everything I'm doing first. But I'd be cautious and try to enjoy life a little more. I might call up old friends to say Hi or drop by to see them again.

I just want to say thanks to all of you for posting a comment. If ther's one thing that I have learned it's that life is precious and we should live our lives to the fullest. I wish you all a great day and a long healthy life.

I would spend as much time as possible with my family and friends. I would write numerous letters to my daughter for her to read in the future after I'm gone. I would forgive the people that I'd had squabbles with, and I would also ask for their forgiveness. I would truly live each day as if it were my last. I'm very sorry for your neighbor and his family. I know this isn't an easy time for them. My dad's prognosis was just like that after he was diagnosed with cancer in '95.

Thank you, my neighbors' son is my sons bestfriend, they are together most of the time. They go to school together, take the same bus, they see each other on a daily basis. I don't know how to help him. My neighbor has a desease that has no cure, it has to do with his muscles. He is so young and I feel really awful about the whole thing, I especially feel for his 3 kids and wife.

Our life is full of mysteries and we don't know when we will be the last day here on earth and all of us will experience that but in the right time.Maybe there is a purpose why he/she is suffering from that illness,we don't know what it is.Sometimes you will only know that life is full of pain and hardships when you experienced the worst thing that you don't want to happen in your life. It's hard to accept that situation specially when the doctor told you that his/her life span will last for only a months but he/she should have faith,no matter what happen he/she will be fighting in his/her situation right now coz he/she can help him/her self if he/she thinks positive and looks for a hope.Kindly told him/her that prayer is the best medicine and hold on his/her faith in God.

I will never cry for that. Because I will enjoy the period and have good time sepnding with friends relatives and do some works which I can and encjoy the life as I like. As it is not possible to extend our time then enjoy it as much as and make others also happy. It is the only way to live the short period you have. I hope that many people will agree with me where as it is not easy many people as all want to live long life.

i think that I would also like to travel, I have lived in Texas all my life and the times we have traveled, it was to Corpus Christi, Houston, or San Antonio. I have never been outside of Texas before. I really would like to visit out of my state.

I don't know what I would do. I think I would cry an awful lot for the first couple of days, and then I would start planning to do things that I've always wanted to do, such as visit Australia and paraglide. You just have to make the most of things in that situation, there's no point wasting the last 6 months that you have left to live.

I would probably find another doctor and see if it is true. Some doctors may be wrong. Then if it is true, I would maybe eat what I want to eat, do the things I want to do, travel, tell my love ones that I love them, forgive people and cry. Then I will pray to God to give me more days to live.
