How often do you go to the dentist??

As a teenager I had terrible experiences at the dentists office.I wore braces for about three years and later on still had to go frequently to the dentist on other issues, so those are frightening memories in my past. As an adult i´ve gone only when I had problems,like I needed a root canal, and my wisdom tooth got pulled, so I´m not in the habit of going on a regular basis, just when i need to.
I know we should go regularly but i still can´t get myself to make those regular appointments. Lately i´ve been wondering about teeth whitening. I´ve used some products but haven´t gotten any results, so maybe going to the dentist is a good idea now. That way I can have my regular check up and get my teeth whitened. Some people say that it´s not a good idea to whiten your teeth, but I guess if it were so bad, so many people wouldn´t be getting then right?

Twice a year without fail.
I don't want my teeth to get bad and cost me more moneythan hte check ups so if I have toothache etc then I'll ring the dentist and go and see him promted

I go to the dentist once every 6 months. I absolutely hate it, but I know it's important for them to keep an eye on my teeth, as they are able to spot things before I can, and therefore before they become too much of a problem.
I've been considering teeth whitening as well. I know it costs a lot to get them professionally bleached, but I really am considering it as an option. I do brush my teeth twice a day, but they are still not perfectly white, and I would like them to be.
